Love All Around--Valentine Wreath by Betsy Skagen

As any crafter will tell you...wreaths aren't just for Christmas anymore. I created this Valentine wreath after being inspired by the wooden spool in Cherry Nelson's lovely project last month.

This Valentine wreath is fairly easy to create, the most difficult part is gathering enough vintage ephemera and doo dads to make it visually appealing.

Begin with the Circle Frame Wreath. Give it a quick wipe with a damp paper towel to remove the burn residue. Then, cover both sides of the circle with red acrylic paint.

Also paint a wooden spool and the Love Heart from the Word Art Romance group with white acrylic paint. When dry, outline the heart with a red pen.
Use some Valentine paper and silver glitter glue to make a rosette. I created a tutorial on my web site a couple years ago that you can use.
Next fussy cut vintage valentines (I make photocopies onto cardstock in order to preserve the originals) and adhere to the circle.

To make the small crackled heart, put Crackle Paste on a wooden heart. Let dry and add red and brown ink.
Add dimension by cutting Valentine straws and tying with ribbon, adding more Valentines with glittery clothespins and adhering many doo dads.

Use a strong adhesive to add a ribbon to the back to serve as a hanger and your wreath is complete! Hope you have a sweet Valentine's Day! -Betsy
